Spartans News · Legacy hands Spartans 7-2 defeat

Greeley West spotted Legacy six runs early and could not get the bats going in a 7-2 5A Front Range League loss on Thursday afternoon.

The Lightning built their lead with patience at the plate.  They walked five times and were hit by a pitch in the first three innings.  They also took advantage of four wild pitches in those three innings.

Senior Tyler Rebeterano was great in relief of Luis DeLeon, surrendering just one unearned run in 4 1/3 innings of work.

West’s offense, however, struggled again, particularly with men in scoring position.  The Spartans were just 2-for-8 in such situations.  Hunter Miller had West’s lone RBI.

The Spartans return to action on Saturday at Broomfield High School.
